What You’ll Do
- Work closely with clients to assist in meeting their needs and goals.
- Analyze budgets and identify ways to improve financials.
- Contribute to creating and maintaining positive client relationships.
- Maintaining and reporting accounting records.
- Electronic filing and bookkeeping tasks.
- Work collaboratively with other interns in a group project that will be presented at the end of the internship.
- Learn to post transactions.
- Conduct month – end and year – end closures.
- Prepare documents for audits.
- Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
- Identify ways to improve the financial process.

If you are interested in a career based on relationship-based financial services, we are a small and growing independent insurance and financial office with an established client base.
We are looking for a financial adviser to act as an intermediary between our company and clients. You will provide to our clients’ insurance and financial guidance and make recommendations on how to best protect their families and businesses, and utilize their money. The ideal candidate will be able to research the marketplace on available products and services, identify clients’ needs, design financial strategies and close a sale.
This associate must be self-motivated, ethical (no insurance or FINRA complaints), personable, service oriented and dedicated to the best interest of our clients. Work hours are Monday through Friday 9am-5:30pm.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic advice across a variety of insurance and financial products and services (debt management, cash management, insurance coverage, investments).
- Assess client’s overall financial picture, understand their needs and develop a solid financial plan.
- Guide clients towards profitable and secure financial decisions.
- Cultivate client base and build win-win relationships.
- Network, generate leads and grasp opportunities to sell insurance & financial products.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and research market to back up financial consulting.
- Oversee the course of the financial plan and update it, if necessary.
- Comply with all industry rules and regulations
- Liaise with financial, legal, accounting service providers and other professionals.
Skills
- Proven working experience as an insurance and financial adviser, controller, planner, specialist or relevant experience.
- Track record of successful financial guidance.
- Ability to analyze market’s financial data and to provide appropriate data-based advice.
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to explain complex information clearly and simply.
- Excellent PC knowledge and ability to operate database systems.
- Current licenses and designations of the ideal candidate, include: CFP, ChFC, Series 6, 7, 63, and 65, Life and Health insurance, as well as Property and Casualty Insurance Licenses.
- BS degree in Finance or related field is preferred.**
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $45,000.00 – $51,000.00 per year
