Campus Locations
UMW is centrally located between the nation’s capital in Washington D.C. and the commonwealth’s capital in Richmond, VA. This location lends itself to opportunities in the governmental sector of the economy, but it also is an area that is experiencing significant population and job growth. According to the 2010 and 2020 US Census, the population in our neighboring area has grown over 16%, a growth rate not expected to decline soon. A Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) study conducted in 2021 shows that the Greater Fredericksburg Region is expected to be ranked #1 in job growth. Further, the region is home to both Marine Corps Base Quantico (headquarters for the Marine Corps University, the FBI Academy, the DEA Training Academy, and the Defense Intelligence Agency) and the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). COB’s relationship with NSWCDD is especially strong, given the University’s campus just off the base serves as a site for education and programming, soon to house a substantial maker space. Currently both the BSBA and the MBA degree programs are offered in Fredericksburg location. The Project Management certificate is offered in Dahlgren location.
