College of Business Participates in Record Breaking Giving Day

Dr. John Burrow’s BUAD 105 class says ‘thank you’ to everyone who made a gift to the COB during Giving Day 2019

On March 19, 2019 the College of Business participated in its second Mary Wash Giving Day, and had a preliminary total of $35,284 for student scholarships, research, travel opportunities, professional development programming, and the Galen deGraff Scholarship fund.

Alumni, faculty, and the College of Business Advisory Board generously hosted many challenges, which encouraged current students, alumni, and friends of the College of Business to make a gift.  Professor Gower’s dogs, Izzy and Teddy, were even encouraging donors to give to the College of Business!

The University Center, serving as the on-campus Giving Day headquarters, bustled with activity, including a donation station, food, games and giveaways, even a photo booth with Sammy D. Eagle. Social media lit up all day long, as UMW supporters went wild with tags, shares and likes for posts and tweets that included the #MaryWashDay and #AllinforUMW hashtags.
