The College of Business participated in its first Mary Wash Giving Day on March 20, 2018 and raised over $25,000 for student scholarships, research, travel opportunities, professional development programming and the Galen deGraff Scholarship fund.

The University Center, serving as the on-campus Giving Day headquarters, bustled with activity, including a donation station, food, games and giveaways, even a photo booth with Sammy D. Eagle. Social media lit up all day long, as UMW supporters went wild with tags, shares and likes for posts and tweets that included the #MaryWashDay hashtag.

The second annual 24-hour online giving event allowed supporters to contribute to all departments and colleges on campus. The University community came together for what ended up being the largest single day of fundraising in the university’s history. The initial goal of 1,908 gifts, in honor of its founding year, far surpassed the outcome of more than 2,600 gifts and over $425,000 in gifts.
