An education in business provides students with a wide array of choices when it comes to a career! Professionals with business degrees are found in nearly every industry.  At UMW, the College of Business provides opportunities for students to develop relationships with professionals (Mentorship Program), get an inside look at regional businesses (Learning Journeys), hear about the career paths of successful alumni (Career Chats), and interact with local business professionals (Speed Networking).

In addition to these programs, the College of Business has a dedicated faculty with experience in various industries, including human resources, project management, and government acquisitions, providing students with an education that exposes them to a wide range of opportunities.  To learn more about our faculty, and their areas of expertise, click here.

Within the College of Business there are also staff to assist you as your progress through your program of study.  Kim Kinsley serves as the COB Academic Advisor, and regularly meets with students to chart their program of study, as well as assist them declaring as a business major.  Kelsey Whitacre serves as the Outreach Coordinator and Career Coach for the COB, and works with students as they gain professional development through COB programs like the EDGE career readiness preparation program, develop professional documents such as resumes and cover letters, and apply for internships and jobs.
