Louis Martinette, Associate Professor in the College of Business Department of Management and Marketing, earned a Doctorate in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University, an MBA from Golden Gate University, and a BS from Old Dominion University. He teaches courses in marketing, strategic management, and leadership.

Dr. Martinette can serve as a knowledgeable source about marketing and strategic planning. He has authored and presented research papers at the Hawaii International Conference on Business, the International Conference of Global Management Studies, the International Academy of E-Business, and the Economics and Business Research Conference on such topics as organizational culture and leadership, leadership in marketing, market orientation, competitive advantage, and learning orientation. Dr. Martinette has received professional awards, including the 2013 Outstanding Graduate Faculty Award, Silver Patrick Henry Medallion for Patriotic Achievement from the Military Order of the World Wars, the Outstanding Service Award from Averett University, and the Associate Service Award from the Home Builders Association of Richmond.

Dr. Martinette has extensive professional experience in marketing, having founded and served as president for 12 years of a marketing and consulting company that developed strategic business plans for several major corporations including Chesapeake Forest Products Company and Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates. He previously served as vice president of marketing of MicroMagnetic, a major distributor of computer supplies and accessories in Richmond, and worked as a marketing manager for 3M Company in St. Paul, Minn.

He is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Global Management Studies, and he is a member of Alpha Kappa Psi professional business fraternity and the American Marketing Association.
