Business Administration: The New Major

All students declaring a major in Business Administration in the Fall 2011 through Fall 2012 will have to complete new major listed below. Students planning on declaring after Fall 2012 will have new admissions requirements – see for more information.

Many of the listed courses have prerequisites, so please be sure to check the catalog before signing up for a particular course. Economic I & II (ECON 201 & 202) and Statistics (Math 200) are the three courses outside the major that are prerequisites for some of our courses. ECON 201 also fulfills a Human Experience General Education requirement and Math 200 fulfills a Quantitative Reasoning General Education requirement.

Sequencing: For entering first year and transfer students, a recommended sequencing of the core courses in the Business Administration major is available at Recommended Sequence web page.

Sequencing for transfer students: Student’s transferring in with 60 credits and an Associates Degree can find a recommended sequence at Recommended Transfer Sequence page. In order to complete the degree in two years, transfer students with Associate Degrees should take, prior to matriculation, Accounting I & II, Economics I & II, as well as a Statistics course, equivalent to our Math 200.

BUAD 381 – Principles of Finance

BUAD 490 – Strategy and Policy (Writing Intensive)

Four (4) additional 300 or 400 level Business Electives.
