IMG_20150929_180250Where were you on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.?  For over 20 College of Business (COB) juniors and seniors, the answer would be “Speed Networking at the Anderson Center”.  Co-hosted by the Fredericksburg Regional Alliance (FRA) and the University of Mary Washington’s College of Business, student participants were given the opportunity to meet with representatives of companies and organizations such as Liberty Tax Service, GEICO, ACI Health, and many others.

Each round of networking was approximately three minutes. At the end of a round, the students would shift to the next seat for a round with another company representative. After the speed networking portion of the evening, students and the company representatives continued to network in a less formal setting, allowing students to speak to each employer that attended.

Demi Fulcher, a senior at UMW and participant in the event said, “I thought it was a great event. I have come several times because it’s a great experience and each time I feel less nervous talking to strangers. Most definitely a wonderful experience and would recommend to everyone whether you’re a business major or not.”
