Meet the Associate Dean of Advising Services

Sallie Washington Braxton

Ms. Braxton is the Associate Dean of Advising Services for the College of Business.  While her primary duties include advising students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree program and undergraduate pre-business major students in the COB on the Fredericksburg campus, she also assists students who currently are pursuing their Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Management Information Systems and Dual Degree programs at the University’s Stafford campus.  Additionally, Ms. Braxton is involved in the University’s new student orientation program for freshmen and transfers, and serves as a first year adviser for incoming freshmen who have not yet made a decision regarding a specific major.

Associate Dean Braxton has been a member of the administrative faculty at the University for over 30 years, with more than 20 years in the academic advising field, working with both traditional and non-traditional students.  During her tenure at the University, she has served as the director of several academic programs, and in a number of administrative positions.  Associate Dean Braxton is a member of several professional organizations including the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).
